The Beaver is Oregon’s state animal, and Beaverton is one of the best places to live in Oregon. The Terpenning Recreation Complex, which is maintained by the Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District, encourages Beaverton residents and people in nearby towns to stay active. The Complex hosts a pool, athletic center, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, multipurpose sports fields, skate parks, basketball courts and walking trails.

Homes in Beaverton range from midcentury classics to luxury new construction. With easy access to both the Oregon coast and the Cascade mountains, outdoor activities are just a drive away. The housing market currently is booming with many new neighborhoods being added to the far SW corner of Beaverton that is close to Progress Ridge and Cooper Mountain. So you will find a mix of established well maintained neighborhoods with larger lots or brand new homes with all the bells and whistles.

The outdoors are always easy to access; Beaverton has an impressive network of more than 100 parks, 30 miles of hiking trails and 25 miles of bike paths. Some of the best outdoor activities in Beaverton are Tualatin Hills Nature Park, Cooper Mountain Nature Park, Fanno Creek Greenway Trail, Hyland Forest Park and Progress Lake Park. Dog lovers will enjoy the availability of the many dog parks to share with their furry friends. Make sure you visit the Cooper Mountain dog park, one of the State’s best. There is also one of the State’s oldest wineries, Cooper mountain vineyards to relax and take in the scenery.
